I'm with you, Texan5. It's because people have been irresponsible and lazy that we even have a feral cat (python, dog, nonnative fish, etc.) problem. There ARE humane ways to resolve it. I don't think I could even be friends with, much less respect, someone who could go out and shoot strays without a second thought. Killing animals for food is one thing, killing them because you don't want to be bothered is an entirely different matter.

My family never allowed the kids to be irresponsible or cruel-we were raised with house pets as part of the family-and we were taught the proper feeding and care of livestock-horses to chickens-at an early age.
We were taught to hunt-but never near a feeder-and only what was intended for food, unless it was a poisonous snake.
We were not allowed to play with the children of anyone known or rumored to be cruel to animals-even when my dad was in the military and we lived in other places that was true. I asked why once, and my dad just said it wasn’t a healthy way for people to think and act-end of discussion.
