Whenever I see Jackson Galaxy put his hand out to a hostile cat hiding under a bed, I shout at the TV, "Your gonna get mutilated!". Invariably, he does! He says that he is testing the limits of the cat trying to find out where the comfort level and boundaries are with each individual one, but I can't remember when he was NOT scratched and/or bitten when he does it. I love it when he gives "eye kisses" and they respond with one back. It's then that an opening is made to further relating and gives him something to work with. A truly wild, feral cat that has never had any interaction with humans is almost impossible to get any response other than fight or flight.

You're right about getting on the floor with them. Our Stella gets snooty sometimes and runs away if I try to pet her, but if I get on my hands and knees and call her, she usually comes back and starts the headbutts and lets me in. My husband does the same thing and she really responds to him, begging, at times, for his attention. He has his routine with the two of them in the morning when he plays with them and gives them treats. It's their "special time". They are such wonderful creatures!

LOL, SO cute. I agree, they're amazing animals....truly little tigers in every sense of the word.
