It is my understanding that police dogs are considered fellow officers, so, yes, barking at one or disrespecting one can land you in jail.

Before leaving America some ten years ago, I noticed that the good old boy policemen had morphed into jackbooted thugs.
Some LEOs take themselves way too seriously. How about a “knock it off” first? With all of the incidents of police shooting barking dogs and yet they cant tolerate a little stupidity? No wonder the public is becoming less and less cooperative.
