Gaffer - sadly, I do believe you’re right. The disease is spreading throughout the country, but I figure I’ll get some good years down here before it overcomes Georgia. I spent years fighting the politics in NY, well before the unSAFE Act was a gleam in little Andy Cuomo’s eye. I still stay plugged into the fight up there, but I’m done slamming my head into that particular brick wall. I did feel a small bit guilty for abandoning the front line up there, but I got over it as soon as I had my first whiff of freedom down here. As far as I’m concerned, NY can go the way of Detroit. They want it, they can have it. And I hope they choke on it.
I don’t blame you. I am always looking for ways to leave NY. We are somewhat entrenched with 2 kids in school, good job here, and a house. However, if the right opportunity comes along, I will not hesitate.
Running isn’t always the answer, but in the case of NY, fighting will not change anything except my health, for the worse. Until the SCOTUS does their job and gives us some specifics on the limits of the 2nd Amendment, this s*** will just continue. Even if the pending lawsuits are successful they will take years to complete. By then the NY tyrants will have come up with some other law that then has to make its way through the courts. The other hope is that NYC gets inundated with a tsunami. But that is just a dream.
