Maybe things like this explain the hostility of the politicians and some police toward Stand your Ground laws. If so and you also have to take into account the absolute hostility toward firearms, knives etc. in NYC. Then I would not be at all surprised to see the three ‘S’s start being applied there.

And then the Politicians and Police can point toward their policies as being responsible for the decrease in reported crimes.

I wonder how they would classify all of the Bodies ending up mysteriously at the local morgues? /s

Here is what politicians do in the age of Obama:

Take guns away from law abiding citizens so they and their families can be terrorized by thugs. Allow thugs to get handouts from honest taxpayers. Allow thugs to own guns and commit any crime. Call the thugs victims and give them more taxpayer funded handouts. When thugs shoot honest citizens tell citizens law enforcement won't do anything.

Increase taxpayer handouts to thugs again. Make speech after
speech decrying “gun violence” and insist we must take more guns from law abiding citizens. Tell law enforcement not to detain or in anyway inconvenience violent thugs. Say violent thugs are “victims” of police harassment. Get the media to write stories about how gun violence and racism by law abiding citizens is the problem and how thugs are victims who can not get justice.

Repeat.

Her father found out about the incident and filed a police report, the neighbor said.

Friends said that they suspected the young men found out about the police report and were seeking revenge.

“If the police can’t take care of us, we’ll have to start taking care of ourselves,” Hernandez said.

I think that this incident has not yet played out to completion, but we won't hear about it in the news, for one reason or the other (hopefully for the right reason)...
