I believe David reigned 40 years. Difficult to know how they can pinpoint the find to that narrow a time frame. How do they know it wasn’t the palace of Solomon, rehoboam, or for that matter Saul?

The canaanite theory sounds like a desperate attempt though to deflect it from the possibility of a Davidic king...which it very well could be.

Fascinating story...thanks.
