A newspaper editor is a public figure. I would think that if she is successful in her suit that every public figure she ever defamed could then file suit against her, in the same court with the same judge.

No joke. Back in the ‘60s I was a tramp printer, working on Country weeklies for six months or so and then moving on (working off my wanderlust).

Descriptions under pictures were called “cutlines” and one bad week, they mixed two of them up. There was an old rundown barn that burned down and was the talk of the town, as was the death of a prominent dowager.

The cutline for the barn was accidentally put under the dowager’s photo and said, “The old eyesore is gone at last.”
