” Fifteen years in general population with
his hands cuffed behind his back seems
about right.”

I suspect he might WANT to keep his hands BEHIND his back.

That is called paranoia. How many cops have been killed by ANYONE simply walking up to them in the last 10 years?

” I suggest that all of you so quick to lay
blame sign up for a ride along with your
local PD..”

I suggest you do a ride along for a police beat down or paranoid shooting. It is easy to make excuses for bad judgement, if others pay the pricefor your mistakes.

"There wasn't a mistake made. There were laws broken, or the LE wouldn't be in jail."

Oh, forgot...that's why George Zimmerman was in jail. Thanks for the Nazi perspective.

Let’s’ see. 180 pound male cop throws an unarmed 100 pound woman to the ground and damages her permently. No evidence of a weapon and I am pretty sure she didn’t have an AK under coat since it is Texas in the Summer.

Sorry cop was wrong. There are 50 ways to subdue and hook up a “suspect” that do not involve slamming them on the ground.

I'll go with Brown v. Texas, since I'm in Texas, and the cops tend to understand that.

“Texas’s law requires a person to provide their name, residence address and date of birth if lawfully arrested and asked by police. (A detained person or witness of a crime is not required to provide any identifying information, however it is a crime for a detained person or witness to give a false name.)”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_and_identify_statutes

The victim was not lawfully arrested and asked by police. She was not detained.

Oh my...

Did you read the article? Or is your defense of uniformed thugs kneejerk?

Brown 1979
Hiibel 2004

Hiibel is the current state of the case law.

They actually speak to slightly different issues. I can say Brown v. Texas here, and the constabulary knows they aren't getting an ID.

I hope you are kidding. Tell me this is sarcasm.

Ken5050 is kidding. Generally FReepers don't achieve that level of stupid. Even Liberals have to try hard to smack that level of stupid on the nose. Thus, he must be pushing the razor's edge of sarcasm and not being serious. Trying to show the asinine thought patterns of a bootlicker operating at the mental level of a retarded juvenile Orangutan.

Why do I think so?

Because of this statement he made '.."Better to be judge by 12 than carried by 6." The same logic, and privilege should apply even more so to cops' where he basically advocates the cop going as far as shooting the lady because she MAY have been trying to kill him.

He is joking. No one is that stupid ...not even a cop. At that level of stupid, were he not joking, he'd probably have walked blind-folded into traffic or stuck his gonads in a blender or some other equally 'Darwin-esque' self-elimination by now. Thus, he must be joking. ;)

I am compelled to applaud your exceedingly well written, cogent, and articulate smack-down of myself. It is refreshing that criticism can be elevated to a biting, incisive art form, and not the normally juvenile, asinine ravings that are often found here....

and, oh yeah, one more thing....

Have a GREAT day!!

:) Thanks for being a sport. A lesser man would have taken it in a different way. God bless.
