The problem with psychiatry today is that they think everything is biochemical and usually offer prescriptions to help people block the interface between their physical body and their soul. Heal the soul and the biochemistry of the body heals itself.
For example, fasting as a spiritual practice decreases the production of 5-HTP and serotonin in the enterochromaffin cells (a neuroendocrine cell)in the lining of the stomach and upper GI. The decrease in serotonin in the synaptic cleft (which acts as a shock absorber relating to transmission of emotional thoughts)allows the unresolved wounds in the soul to surface and be dealt with for soul cleansing purposes.
Much emotional eating is caused by the body craving carbs which will increase the serotonin production in the enterochromaffin cells..
I wish that other people could experience their soul and other people’s souls as the physical tangible object that they are, not just as a theoretical object. It opens a whole new door of awareness and explains why religion teaches what it does.
The human soul is not located within the body. The body exists within and is a manifestation of the human soul. Depression is what we experience as we are breaking through the egg shell of our self identity and being born of the spirit at which time we begin to perceive from our soul or spirit, not just our physical body senses. To the extent that we diminish “My individual will” and focus on living our life to serve “Thy Will” the process becomes less painful.
This is exactly why I recommended this book. In my pre-coffee state this morning my explanation was too brief.
Please look up Pastor Caspar McCloud on YouTube or Google. This is not a psychology book. When I saw this short video this was the first thing I thought of because so few are speaking in these terms. Also check out Caspar’s website at www.theupperroomfellowship.org
