Actually they injected the same code into everyone.

We are all unique genetically, thanks in part to our parasites. In terms of DNA we are out numbered in our own skin by our parasites.

That is a good thing. Our DNA couldn’t mutate fast enough to develop immunity to quickly evolving diseases. With some of the immunity job outsourced to our parasites, the successful parasites can be traded to other humans to protect them.

We even get good parasites from our pets, who do helpful things like sniff other pets, pick up their parasites, filter them with their own immune system, and pass on the very best ones to us.
