Word For The Day, Wednesday, July 10, 2013-- quisling
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
quisling [kwiz-ling]
noun
a person who betrays his or her own country by aiding an invading enemy, often serving later in a puppet government; fifth columnist.
Origin: 1940; after Vidkun Quisling (18871945), pro-Nazi Norwegian leader
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
A+++
Excellent limerick, sir!
I, for one, am outraged. I wrote this earlier.
I agree with your theory about Snowden-in WAY over his head. It may be that he was tipped off early on by someone that he was about to be grabbed and hauled in to be used as the latest scandal distraction-so he bolted before he was ready, and wikileaks and Vlad got their claws into him...
It’s a good day for shadenfreude
And expressions of our disgust
Obamascare has begun imploding
And the IRS is choking on dust
One quisling outing some others
Is never a thing that’s bad-
I just hope they keep talking
Like someone who has run mad
You screwed up and trusted us
Is the message the emperor sends-
If he reads a bit about Nixon
He may see where this stuff ends...
If he reads a bit about Nixon
He may see where this stuff ends...
I hope someone in Congress is reading this. We know Obama is.
Thank you! Nixon thought he couldn’t get caught-Obama-another lawyer- probably thinks the same. It is the ego that brings guys like that down...
I’m not going to use “quisling” in a sentence because there are too many very good candidates for that epithet out there!
That especially applies to those who sell us out to the muslim Brotherhood, and to islam in general!!!
You’re assuming he can read anything that isn’t on a teleprompter. I’m not convinced of that.
An American Sellout.
