This 12 years old boy is just stunningly, incredibly smart. Listen to him as he excoriates the Muslim Brotherhood, relentlessly dissecting their power grab for Egypt.
This boy is clearly amazing and, for this I have no doubt, exceptional. I hope he is safe in expressing his views in a country where the Muslim Brotherhood still holds so much power.
No, it didn’t look like he was reading it or even like he was spewing it rote.
He knew what he was talking about and spoke with conviction.
I wish I could meet an American kid that age with as much ability to articulate and as much understanding of what is going on.
I was skeptical at first, then amazed as he stated forcefully and intellectually confident his list of wrongs.
I would hate to read about this intelligent youngster ending up headless in a Cairo gutter.
The problem here is that the Egyptian people voted, by a landslide, for Islamist rule.
They've got buyers' remorse for their electoral decision, not democratic resistance to a power grab.
Sometimes I think we would do better supporting folk like him, rather than the pseudo-conservatives who claim to be representing us.
You can bet he will be a future leader and an enemy of the MB. He is wise beyond his years. I give his parents a virtual standing ovation.
Frightening! This could lead to violent attacks on our embassies around the Arab world. This kid needs to be in prison. /S
Much like the Democrat party in the US in fact. They are an immensely powerful movement and lets give the devil his due, they have a lot of very dedicated supporters and they are very well organised. Moreover, in spite of all their whining about "1% ers" and "the rich influencing elections" the simple fact is that the Democrats have far more resources than the Republicans. They certainly spent more last time - to the point where you could consider they almost bought the election.
So I'm more optimistic about the state of democracy in Egypt. There are a lot of protestors out, and as the old aphorism goes, if one person is saying something probably a hundred are thinking it.
It's true and very sad. I met the 9 year old child of an Indian co-worker a month ago. The child was here in the US visiting from Mumbai. This child spoke like someone out of a Dickens novel. I was completely engrossed in what he was saying and how he said it.
When I spoke to his father at work the next day, I asked him why he hasn't brought his family to the US from India. He told me (paraphrasing), "In India, the education of our children is paramount to parents and is not something taken lightly. In America, our education system is a 9-month-long daycare where the children are indoctrinated but not educated."
"The entire world is laughing at us" is essentially what he said.
I think he is right about our ‘system’ of education.
It is broken and no one has the will to make necessary changes.
Big Labor has destroyed it the same way they destroy everything they touch.
The education of children had become incidental to educators and their contracts.
Where in the world did you dream up such fantasy???
What "landslide"????
There was never ever any "landslide"!!!
Here, even Aljazeera can tell you Morsi won with just barely 51 per cent of the vote!
Wow! Very well spoken.
They’d prolly be an Indian American.
