I don't care what anyone says I loved that movie. One of the best parts was Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore:

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like .......victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Dittos. A GREAT movie!!!!! I liked the original shorter version better though.

No doubt. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the movie, you cannot suppress quality, and Robert Duvall is...Quality with a capital Q.

Favorite movie with him: "Open Range".
