The former fiancée of NBA star Jason Collins, who in April came out as the first openly gay athlete in a major American team sport, has spoken for the first time about the heartache of losing the man she loved.
Carolyn Moos had been with Collins for eight years before he called off their wedding without explanation in July 2009. I had no idea why, the 35-year-old reveals in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. We had planned to have children, build a family. Nearly four years later, I got my answer. My former fiancé, Jason Collins. . . announced last spring in Sports Illustrated that he is gay.
We pushed each other to be our best. On one visit, I remember taking a nap after a day of hard training, and he woke me up by rubbing a rose across my face, telling me how much he believed in me. Another time, he told me that I was his soul mate and I was meant for him.

Rubbed a rose across her face? That’s guilt. He must have had something rubbed across his face earlier. Cue the Dice Man!

Any guy that uses the phrase “soul mate” is likely gay

It stinks when perceptions are erroneous, but if he went to the dark side, there is nothing lost but an illusion of someone she thought she had.
What she lost wasn't real.

Any guy that uses the phrase soul mate is likely gay I wouldn't go THAT far, but he's definitely "fixable."

The point is that like all homosexuals, he is the epitome of selfish behavior.
One would suspect that at some point in their nine year relationship a sexual component was there.
If a person is able to perform sexually with a member of the opposite sex, are they truly homosexual? Or just what was always said about them, sick, mentally confused degenerates?

Considering she wasted 8 of her fertile years on him and is now looking at a future life as a childless spinster or potential crazy cat lady, yeah, she was robbed.
Ladies, do not waste time on these useless types. Men who want to get married, stay married and raise a family will move directly toward that goal, not shilly shally dance around it.

Carolyn Moos had been with Collins for eight years before he called off their wedding without explanation in July 2009 8 years with a guy and never a hint he was playing for the other team the whole time? Hard to believe....
