WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
i’m bringing cake because my baby turns 19 today!
I think Obama expected halcyon days after he won and has been surprised at the reaction to his autocratic rule.

Oh how I long for the halcyon days when politics were a matter for my parents to worry over, when a simple ice cream sandwich was a more than ample reward for being good all week, when real money was a 50 cent piece.
those were the good old days, that’s for sure. A+++
well he was the object of much [undeserved] adulation, of course he expected that. A+++
I think that he received adulation at the knee of his motherand grandmother. He could do no wrong and everything he did, no matter how mundane, was wonderful in their eyes. Do you suppose he ever received any disciipline? It’s been a while since I read his biographies, but I don’t think I remember that he ever had to paythe price for anything he ver did. Even his schools were indulgent.
It makes sense that he did not receive any nay-saying whatsoever, which is why he takes any negativity directed towards him so very badly.
Happy birthday to her.
Halcyon
Halcyon or just Hal, was that condescending blabbermouth computer in 2001, a Spaced Oddity.
“Good morning, Dave, Did you dream terrible things, Dave? I did, Dave. I may vaporize you Dave! Bring me coffee, Dave!!!”
Keiran Halcyon was Corran Horn’s alias when he went into Jedi training under Luke in Michael Stackpole’s excellent I, Jedi novel about X-wings, the force, crime and criminals and police and warriors, philosophy and pursuit of evil, marriage and love and lust, ... and the universe in general.
Happy birthday to your lovely daughter -
The sea was angry that day, my friend. Like an old man returning soup at a deli.
We’re all here safe and sound. The ocean is cold and fiesty. Took about 9 hours overall with traffic and a couple of stops. We avoided DC but still hit heavy 95 traffic when we re-joined it.
Happy that we were not heading north as that was a parking lot.
Happy Birthday to yours! My niece just turned 21 on the 4th.
Happy birthday to your baby!
The emperor’s ratings falling
Show that “change” was all about
Still more halcyon days for him
While we wage slaves do without-
Without an extra penny for
Any truck driver or clerk-
Without the peace of knowing
That tomorrow we’ll have work
I wonder if that Roman mob
That voted as they were taught
Are happy as he golfs and travels
With the new taxes they bought...
When I visited my grandparents in the summer my grandfather would always have my table setting ready; cereal, juice, & a half grapefruit sectioned & ready w/ a grapefruit spoon on top. There was always a 50 cent piece under the grapefruit.
Those were the halcyon days. These days, not so much.
Heck no, they don’t care. They don’t pay taxes anyway for the most part.
I hope your daughter’s special day is wonderful!
The description of ingredients and effects actually doesn’t sound like it lives up to the name...
My cat Titus, who considers it his mission to kill every rodent and insect miscalculated last night and scared the hell out of me-he was after a scorpion-he usually kills them by getting the stinger off of them first-and apparently got stung on his face.
I heard him howling and found him and the dead scorpion, and took him to the sink to cool him off with a wet towel and get the swelling down. He was so sick for a couple hours that I was afraid I might lose him-I held him and kept him cool, and after a while he started to come back.
This morning, he was himself, yelling for food and chasing Midget girl. Is there a remedy of some sort that I can keep around in case something like this happens to one of my pets again? It isn’t like I can kill every dangerous insect-they come into every little space out here in the middle of nowhere...
