Disney totally mismanaged “John Carter.” It actually is a well-made movie, based on the first few of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Mars novels and containing some interesting new plot twists. It should have been titled correctly as “A Princess of Mars” or “John Carter of Mars.” Disney should have made the connection to Tarzan through the author. They also should have made the point that the Mars series preceded and is the genesis of most American sci-fi. Disney did almost no promotion of the film and just let it flop.
Again, Disney is being run by idiots.
