If Paterno had spoken up, the bad publicity might have hurt ‘the program’ and that was to be squelched at all costs. NOTHING at Penn State was more importand than ‘the program’. We saw where Mr. Paterno’s priorities were. His values had a depth of field of exactly 100 yards.
Penn State University was nothing more than life support for a football team.
