Not that a steel boat can’t sink....I don’t want to come across as some knowitall. God bless all the sailors at sea. When you are on the land and the wind is howling and the rain is lashing, imagine being out in 25’ waves with twice the wind.

Still, I’d take that fate over waking up in an old folks’ home stuck with needles and tubes. Anyday.

Just happened to watch *Racing Around the World Alone* last night on Amazon Prime. The story of the 2008/2009 Vendée Globe race.

I was astounded at what is now possible (22 knots in a 60' canting keel sailboat). These guys and gals circumnavigate the globe, alone, in 90 days!

My “favorite” line from news casters is, the storm passed safely out to sea. Well, I was out there and I didn’t feel so safe hearing that.
