Can somebody please give me the latest scoop on buying ammo? Somebody around here always has good info.
Just after Newtown, I went to the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA and got 4,000 round of 9mm and .45. By the way, don't blame me as a "panic buyer;" for the past 8 years, that's been my usual buy at the NGS. Prics were up by only 1 penny per round, and there was ammo to be had. Now, I'm down to my last 65 rounds, and I'm beginning to freak. The prices at DAG Ammo actually DROPPED last week, but they are COMPLETELY out of stock.
What can a desperate man do?
Thanks

Reloading is relaxing. Each time you pull the handle you can say: "That's a dollar, that's a dollar, that's a dollar..."

They update every day a link on the front page for what they have in stock sufficient for online orders.
I found they have more in stock if you are local to Houston and visit the store.
You haven't had issues getting primers?
Bulkammo.com
Needless to say, I’ve been considering it from the day I first picked up a piece of individual liberty... Needless to say, I’m REALLY considering it these days.
Self-discipline seems to be your first problem.
Why would you fire your last 1000 rounds?
You don’t need the practice as much as you need the stable resource.
When you get that low, you just don’t shoot until you can resupply.
I have a fairly large set of primers on hand. I got them from a guy who was getting to old to hunt / shoot. I bought them off of him at a discount. So I have not been out looking for primers lately.
I no longer reload, and haven’t for a long time. But what I read is primers are about as available as 22 LR.
Agreed.
I can’t find .22 or primers. I haven’t seen a single box of either since before the election. Thankfully I’ve got some of both on hand, but I’m not shooting anything other than shotgun shells until we return to some semblance of normal.
Just wait until he becomes addicted to shooting.
the thing to do was not shoot rounds you could not replace.
Don’t shop at CheaperDirtbags. They gouge bigtime. Check gunbot.com.
I’ve found 22 LR available locally, fairly dependably, but only 1 50rnd box at a time at 50% higher than before prices.
I already had a decent stock built up. I raised that some a several months ago until I got a few years worth on hand. Since then I only look when in the store, where 6 months ago I was checking different stores several times a week.
The Academy Sports I went to will only sell each customer three boxes with no more than one box of each caliber.
Some just claim it's difficult to find. Not quite the same thing?
Primers can be had. you just have to be persistent.
