The Pope is a bit behind the times. Wild Capitalism has been dead and buried for years. If he is looking for malefactors of great wealth he would be better off looking at Crony Capitalism. There’s more money in having pals in the ruling bureaucracy.
I wish he was urging people to fight against wild socialism, but that doesn’t seem to be this Pope’s style. Oh, well.
This thread is not going to be taken down but everyone is required to cover one eye while reading. If you have but one eye...squint. No cheating like reading twice either.
Not surprising to me. The Vatican has long upheld the idea of the “universal ownership of all goods.” Here’s a link to a short paper co-written by a former Catholic priest entitled “Papal Promotion of Collective Ownership and Theft.” It’s well worth your time.

Here’s another article about Bergoglio
“Pope Francis Shows His True Colors”

The concept of “wild capitalism”, borrowed from the environmental movement, is inappropriately applied in a confused fashion by Pope Francis to the obligations of the rich to the poor and what he sees as an obsession with money. This reminds me of the neurotic thought processes of Argentina’s disfunctional society, the millieu in which Francis has spent his life until recently. For example, there is an mainstream academic view in Argentina that U.S. bankers and the CIA forced Argentina to take out loans it could not repay in order to enslave the country. This, of course, is merely an elaborate rationale for defaulting on loans, yet this lack of accountability has become ingrained in the Argentine psyche. The article above displays aspects of these thought patterns in Francis’ pronouncements.
Francis should stay away from comments on politics and economics until he has formulated a consistent philosophy concerning such matters.
He’s a Jesuit.
C’mon.
This pope is an intellectual lightweight, a Marxist and a Jesuit. Expect nothing from him, except very public, very contrived acts of alleged humility.
