How many girls dream of looking like Barbie when they grow up only to realize its physically impossible?
Estimates of what a woman would look like if she had Barbies measurements rack up so to speak at about 39-20-33″. She would be 6 to 7 feet tall and only weigh about 100 to 108 pounds.
Photographer and artist Nickolay Lamm aimed to answer this question recently by creating 3D images of a Barbie doll with a real-life. Lamm used CDC measurements for the average American 19-year-old female in creating his doll she has a 33.6-inch waist and weighs 150 pounds.
I adored Barbie as much as the next middle class white kid, but after gazing at Lamms doll for a minute, it was the archetype that looked strange.
These images exemplify the bizarre and fictitious ideals girls and boys grow up with. Im not even sure what Mattels motivation is in keeping Barbies crazy measurements wouldnt a more realistic version sell just as well? Were not even getting into the cultural and racial diversity Barbie lacks.

Ricky Bobby’s Mama Barbie.
But they look kinda scary.
It can happen - with enough plastic surgery and anorexia (Valeria Lukyanova).
< /SNORT!>
You beat me by a minute, but my post is three times as good (or three times as scary).
She doesn’t look like a real woman because she isn’t a real woman. I wish they would give all this silly stuff a rest.
But hey, Ken looks LGBT, yay! /s
Did someone get paid to research, write this? If so, shame on whoever wrote the check. It’s a ******* doll! God help us.
-— We just loved dressing her up. ——
But eventually she ends up naked, being twirled around by her hair. My now teenaged kids confirmed my theory.
And how did they determine this? Maybe she's sort and REALLY skinny.
Actually Lara Stone of Holland is very close to Barbie’s real measurements.
Barbie’s not real?, nooooo.....
if they ever saw clothes again it was surly when i wasn't around, and it seemed there were always at least six of them draped over the hand rail in the shower drying out
to this day i don't know how many they had, musta been at least three or four each so i guess some of them prolly had clothes on, just not the ones in the bathroom
those were the days...
The idea of a 150 lb/33” waisted 19 year old conjures up other than the ‘average.’
We even made a Priest collar for one of the Ken's to officiate, but we didn't have any black clothes for him to wear so I think he had black construction paper over his Hawaiian shirt and shorts! My Barbie and Ken even had 3 children, but because I only had other adult size Barbies, the babies were all Weebles!
The newer Ken's or the ones I've seen do look gay. Like they spend their time tanning, getting their nails done and over whitening their teeth! I never remember one friend acting like they had to grow up to look like Barbie. They were just dolls, and we had fun playing with them!
It is a TOY, azz holes!!!
