I’m of the point of view that sometimes something not too nice like a beating or a cavity search is the ONLY “punishment” that will end up being doled out due to a soft justice system. Is it wrong? Yeah, perhaps so, but if the choice is between someone getting beaten or searched or getting away scot free, I’m going to choose “let them have SOME consquences at least!” EVERY time.
Don’t like it? Let’s see about a less ineffectual justice system where the law is actually the law, not a money grab, then.

Two Texas state troopers indicted for roles in roadside body cavity search of two women

Trooper Kelley Helleson, who was later fired after the Texas Department of Public Safety investigated, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of official oppression. Trooper David Farrell was charged with theft after the women said their prescription went missing following last summers incident.

I'd say the chances of the troopers involved in this latest incident being indicted are pretty high. What do you think?
