Robert Duvall’s speech in the bar with Costner and the sheriff about a man’s right to his own property, by rumor, was ad-lib as he is a closet libertarian. Duvall on the set, didn’t like it that they were filming in canada when he thought they should hire American actors, which pissed off the local canadian media.

Duvall has had quite a career, starring in both the Godfather and Lonesome Dove. Amazing.

I rode it in California years ago, and I recently road the one in Florida. It’s different, but not too horrible. There is a lot of “Johnny Depp” or whatever his name is in the new/reconfigured ride.

I bought Fist Full of Dollars DVD at a garage sale for a buck. Love Eastwood movies in general, never saw it, took a chance. Loved it. Best value for a dollar I can remember.

The weekly hate movie thread. Just don’t see the damn movie if it makes you so upset. Free Republic has turned into a teen site for some reason. What is next? See which actress has the biggest boobs?

I saw this today and I have to say it was much better than I expected. Just hearing the William Tell overture during the finale made it all worthwhile. Instead of being negative and looking at this from a political standpoint; take it for what it is... just a fun summer movie. Was it great....of course not. But it was entertaining. I for one am glad I went out to support Jerry Bruckheimer who is a fellow conservative rather than listen to the elitist critics.

If they had an Oscar for best portrayal of an historical figure, Duvall's portrayal of Robert E. Lee in Gods and Generals would not have had any competition.Too bad only about 5 of us saw it.
