Yesterday, what to say. Started off in the rotunda. I got there early and met and spoke with the prolifers who were there. Lots of media, I was interviewed once in the rotunda. Media pretty fair - pro aborts were set up and prepared on the rotunda floor, while the prolifers were on the second floor.

Then, most of the prolifers showed up shortly after 10. What followed is something I haven’t seen ever. We had a procession of about 400+ prolifers all marching and singing Amazing Grace into the rotunda. We continued singing for about 45 minutes with the pro abortion folks trying to shout us down. We were louder, they couldn’t match us in the rotunda, and tried to blast us with their speakers from outside.

Outside was a carnival. From the front steps you had about 2000 pro abortion folks, with music, food, etc. Party atmosphere, frisbees and stuff. They were much more organized than we were. Coathangers, the usual stuff was around and they were very confrontational. After we sang, we went outside to pray in a semicircle surrounding the Texas Capitol building spacing out all our prolife folks. Rather than the noisy blaring you had a silent protest encircling them.

After that - most of the prolifers went back into the rotunda. From what I heard the session started and we had excellent representation in the senate gallery. I wasn’t there. There were 2 prolifers standing out on the steps in front of the Capitol with a poster of an aborted baby tossed from a Dallas abortuary. I decided it was more helpful to help them outside than come inside. We stood together the three of us, and they tried to block us so that they couldn’t see what abortion actually does to a woman. So we set up right on the pillar by the steps where they couldn’t block us without equipment they didn’t possess. I was interviewed twice here - the standard questions. “Why do you support the use of graphic images” Had one UT student (about the right age come up and he was very respectful. Then when the sign fellow had to go, I helped him to his car and then went back to the Capitol. Met up with the lady who brought the cross that we marched in with who was sitting outside the capitol and we all prayed together.

Second person, a young man, looked about 18 asked me about why I was there and we had an excellent conversation. Said that I had convinced him that the prolife argument was stronger.

Then - we went and got some dinner headed off. We went to a prayer session after and then I ended up driving to San Antonio. Very long day to meet some of the organizers for prep for today. Long, long day for me, but we accomplished what we set out to do on Monday. Even though we did not have the numbers, we were very effective.
