after all, they occur in the Declaration of independence which Samuel Adams signed and helped author...we believe it would be outside our industry guidelines to invoke those religious words

Thereby showing that "industry guidelines" are more important that Faith or Country, or Samuel Adams beliefs. His name we use to sell beer, but what he believed in or stood for in his life isn't relevant to us. We only use his name because we know people of faith and country will buy our beer thinking we love America.

We don't.

We hope that you will write to us again in the future with either positive or negative feedback.

We would like to know when the gig is up, so we can borrow someone else's legacy in time to avoid a lag in sales.

The really sad part?

If they had mentioned The Creator is a beer commercial, some of theses same people would boycott because of that!

Overall, they might even get more flack and lose even more business from the perpetually annoyed class than they did this way.
