2) If you’re motivated enough to go to a store that sells micros

WalMart is a 90 second walk from my front door and carries Sam Adams among other typical Americana beers. The nearest microbrew seller is 20-30 minutes away by car.

It’s a matter of motivation.

Good points, I picked mainly Chicago beers, although Goose Island is going national. I consider Sam Adams to be micro brewed craft beer, at Walmart I can usually get decent enough beer.

In fact, I've been really digging the Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition lager, way better than SA and available at Wally World. I don't know if they sell it by you, but it's usually cheaper than Sam for me, although SA is more expensive in Chicago because of import costs.
