I blame white liberals for destroying the black education system which before intergration had order, discipline, respect and an expectation of success. That is what my mom told me when she attended an all black school in Memphis back in the 50s. I worked with an African American woman who one day explained her experience coming from a nearly 100% African American school in a rural area of the south to a similar high school in Boston. She was shocked by the behavior of the students in Boston, and their lack of discipline. The type of behavior described in the article is a hallmark of urban schools, not African American students or schools per se.
A major portion of the blame for the situation falls on the schools who let that culture grow in their classrooms.

BS BS BS. If that were true, why is that suburban school violence is increasing all across America as the number of blacks move to (or get bussed to) the suburbs?
I live in a suburb of Rochester NY with three relatives working in the school system. They see it first hand.
Whether it's Section 8, Urban-Suburban or whatever socialist feel good excuse they use, inner city scum bring their inner city values and destroy everything they touch - schools, neighborhoods, malls - everything.

"The type of behavior described in the article is a hallmark of urban schools, not African American students or schools per se." It's more than just urban blacks. My husband's sister went to a majority black high school in a rural area. She had to learn to fight to defend herself from constant harassment by black girls.
I went to school in a small town, and I have my own experiences.
