Expanding the definition of cracker, a t-shirt featuring the photo of the man who shot Trayvon Martin is now available for purchase.
As seen at right, the shirt has a picture of George Zimmerman and the words P**y Ass Cracker. Zimmerman, a 28-year-old Hispanic, killed Martin, 17, last month while acting as a neighborhood watch captain in Sanford, Florida.
The shirts p**y ass cracker line is apparently a reference to lyrics from the rapper Pliess song 100 Years, which bemoans stiff sentences handed out by racist judges.
Clever. We can’t even get them on a trademark infringement.
I wonder how much the Martin family are making off of every shirt???
Is it enough to pay their legal fees ?
They’d have to sell a lot of shirts
How's that work? They've already settled with the homeowners' association.
Aside from perhaps the City of Sandord, who I think they would have difficulty suing since Trayvon was already dead when they arrived, who (with money) is there left to sue?
I realize it's a very common meme, so this isn't really aimed at you specifically, but I get very tired of the notion that "It's always about the money."
Well, no it's not. The idea is actually a variant of vulgar Marxism, in which all human actions have at root a financial motivation.
Individual folks like reporters, and institutions like media outlets do have a financial incentive to play this story up, since it brings in viewers.
But most people who get their panties all bunched about the issue have no financial incentive.
It's NOT all about money. It's about tribalism, and feeling self-righteous, and power, and reinforcing one's worldview and hating the evil pussy-ass cracker. Even, perhaps especially, if you am one.
