What might be happening to cause my browser to display the article and only the first 10-14 replies on a thread? New anomaly AFAIK.

To: conservatism_IS_compassion It’s happened before, set your views to 20 instead of 50 and if that doesn’t work, disable sidebars. I haven’t had a problem since I did that.

Call it FReepin’ “economy class”. ;)

Thanks to both of you.

I rebooted into Linux, where I’m using a different browser and a different version of the Java language, and the problem is indeed there.

And, yes I remember the 20 posts workaround. Guess what—it worked.

So, I was wrong. However, the sequence of FR working—Java update—FR not working within an hour seemed to point at Java rather than a coincidental reappearance of the bug. Improbable, but it seems to be the case.
