WAPELLO, Iowa -- The winds came to Wapello on Monday. Damages to trees and some roofs were evident around the Wapello area. Probably the most devastating damage hit grain bins in this rural area. Farmers Elevator and Exchange sits along highway 61. They had two grain bins succumb to the high winds. A 200,000 bushel grain bin was totally disintegrated while a second bin of the same size was seriously damaged. The second bin was close to being lifted off of its foundation too.

Climate change!! Bush’s fault!
Yeah buddy..it’s quite a miracle that Bush could do so many wrong things that have lasted for so long.
Sorry about your friend. A relative of mine was about 17 miles from Muscatine. She was home for the storm and the outer part of her roof came off. She didn’t even realize it until family showed up and said, “You ok? You lost your roof.”
Extended solar minimums have been known to bring unusual fluctuations toward both cold and warm while most noticeably toward cold. I’ve seen some interesting dust devils on the Rockies this summer—nearly like small dust tornadoes that run up to a couple of miles or so.
Thanks..he was in the car dealership..body man. They said he was going to retire this coming December..guess the Lord needed him more.
Sorry about your relative’s house..just like the bins..its expensive, even if you have insurance. But you simply cannot beat the MidWest for neighbor helping neighbor..can ya?
That area really is full of good people. Within hours of the storm, family was there to tarp the outside of the roof and it will be repaired.
I saw the photos of the autoshop. What a rotten deal.
And so odd because it wasn’t a big tornado. But I guess it was big enough.
