CNN) -- Richard Matheson, a prolific American science fiction author and screenwriter whose stories were made into movies and TV episodes, has died. He was 87.
He died at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to his son.

That film is the king of the B-movies, IMO. It's hard to argue against any flick that features a BAR with a starlight scope. ;-)
The book is worthwhile, too - about $7 for the Kindle edition.

I do wish they'd skipped the "Blaxploitation" stuff, which dates the film more than the '70s clothes and hairstyles.

It was the style of the times, and unfortunate, because it is so dated and goofy now.
