How would you ever know where the blood originated from as you were receiving the blood or plasma.
This would make ‘designated’ donation far more popular. I.e., you can give your own blood pre-surgery for your surgery or your spouse/kids/family/friends could donate specifically for you. But what about an emergency? The whole thing is too creepy and one has to wonder about the medical association that is promoting this.
Of course you don't and you would not care from whom the blood came if it were untainted and you needed it to save your life. The problem with homosexual males giving blood is that there is a small window between the initial infection with the HIV virus and a positive screening test. During that time, blood which tested negative could transmit the infection. Despite what politically correct liberals say, those most likely to be infected with the virus have had sexual contact with one of two groups - bisexual and/or homosexual males or IV drug users. These two groups are (or have been) engaging in high risk behavior and should be rightly banned from donating blood.
