This happened to come out right at the time the other week I got my solicitation pledge envelope from Kids Wish Network after agreeing to some money.

I’m glad I could easily find info including WORST CHARITY pop up right away on google.

Last year got myself into the same situation with Breast Cancer Society. Stuck upstairs, no ID on that phone, should answer, they make me feel guilty and pledge just a small amount. THEN I researched. Refused to pay my pledges.

This is almost like an instruction manual for a scam. I’m guessing none of these folks are in jail, right?

Let's see, what are the most common terms in the names of these organizations...

Wish, Cancer, Children, Police.

Think I'll start the "Wish to Cure Cancer in Children of Police" Foundation, set up shop in Old Town Alexandria VA, and ride the charity gravy train. For the children.

Unfortunately I have contributed a staggering amount of money to the biggest and most dishonest charity of them all................

the US Government! Makes all the ones on this list look like amateurs.

Lord's of Poverty details the African charity scam. eg..

Most charities don't get to Africa until 5 million is raised. They have to gather in the posh hotels eating the posh food discussing a plan of action, but that can`t be finalized in one meeting. So they schedule more meetings.

When the food\supplies arrives were it is most needed, there is an agreement with the war lords of the area. You take glossy photos of feeding the starving people, now put the cameras down and our military\rebels are taking all the food\supplies.

The false photos are then used to show your contribution really makes a difference during the next guilt drive.

Surprised that UNICEF is not on the worst of the worst list.
