Amanda Knox was seen meeting her ex-boyfriend Raffaelle Sollecito in New York on Tuesday.
Knox's mother followed behind the former couple in their rendezvous, but there was no sign of the boyfriend Knox reportedly lives with in Seattle.
The meeting came just after they were ordered to return to Italy for a retrial over the murder of British student Meredith Kercher.
The judges in Italy's top court is looking to rule out the possibility that Kercher died during a sex game that went wrong.
The two were seen hugging, and Sollecito put his arm around her, sparking rumors that the two are back together. The move for reexamination in court has led to concerns over whether the two should be in contact.
Knox did not comment on the ruling or whether she planned to attend trial in Italy. Earlier reports said Knox was planning to stay in the U.S. rather than return to Italy to face justice. Sollecito, an Italian, has no choice but to return.
The court overturned the couple's acquittal, releasing Knox after four years of her 26-year prison sentence. The court said releasing Knox and Sollecito was "illogical" and riddled with "deficiencies [and] contradictions."

Actually, when brought in for questioning, she did cartwheels at the police station. Not exactly fight, flight or freeze.
Couldn’t she challenge by the US double jeopardy laws?
Amanda Knox is as much a murderer as George Zimmerman is
She was acquitted of the crime....then subjected to double jeopardy by another court
Anyone trusting the Italian justice system is being foolish. They are clinically Anti American....you should see how they treat custodial American parents when their children are abducted by non-custodial parents and go to Italy
Amanda Knox at best is a very creepy women.
It’ a “Sicilian thing”...
Well any future extradition to Italy for a retrial would violate her fifth amendment right against double jeopardy. In the US, an acquittal can't be reversed, eg. O J Simpson. Why should a US court allow a extradition of someone who has already been acquitted of a crime to be retried?
When her conviction was overturned by an Italian court that amounted to an acquittal.
In the US, if an appellate court sets aside a jury verdict, that's not the same as an acquittal.
“I guess this woman is not pretending to be innocent anymore.”
How so?
“Earlier reports said Knox was planning to stay in the U.S. rather than return to Italy to face justice. “
Double jeopardy? What justice?
watch the interview... she’s destroyed for life.
“In the US, if an appellate court sets aside a jury verdict, that’s not the same as an acquittal.”
From the article:
“The court overturned the couple’s acquittal”
This is what our courts will look at, where double jeopardy comes into play.
