Sopranos star James Gandolfini, who struggled with booze addiction in his final weeks, scarfed down a decadent final meal that included at least eight alcoholic drinks, The Post has learned.
Gandolfini guzzled four shots of rum, two pina coladas, and two beers at dinner with his son while he chowed down on two orders of fried king prawns and a large portion of foie gras, a hotel source in Rome said.
The Emmy Award winner had attended several Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on Perry Street in the West Village, but people who saw him there didnt think that he was serious about getting sober, said a source familiar with the matter.

My Father was an Alcoholic for over 60 years. He just turned 90 while surviving Stage Four Lymphoma eight years ago.
I have Leukemia and never drank, smoked or did drugs. Already fell out of Remission once and may be going back within a year of my numbers don’t improve
My Uncle died at 53 of a massive heart attack while dancing with his Daughter at her Wedding Reception. Skinny guy, smoked when he was younger and just finished a meal that didn’t compare to Gandofini’s last supper.
Stuff happens without rhyme or reason, but everyone wants a reason for some reason or other. You may quote me.
He had periodic spells of tachycardia his whole life, I often wonder how his heart would have held out if he had lived longer.
I had to smile at three specific things you wrote: Mention of your baby (no longer a baby) your scar (oh geeez...lol...doesn’t it suntan?) and those tulips. How sweet of you to remember them. I remember trying to choose “proper” flowers for a man’s man, and decided on those colorful tulips because to me they said, “Praise God & Happy LIFE.”
There are always random happenings that can’t be explained. But sometimes our own actions bring on excepted results.
Please don’t quote me.
For those who cared to read the entire article, you would learn that our portly actor also indulged in cocaine - which even when used moderately causes great strain to the heart. Increased blood pressure and heart rate and irregular heartbeat, all most likely leading to the myocardial infraction that took his life in such dramatic fashion.
Apparently Gandolfini was a regular user of cocaine and I submit to you that this was the true cause - not prawns and pina coladas - of his premature death.
That's actually a pretty healthy practice. Especially if the sardines are packed in olive oil. I dump a tin of King Oscar sardines (packed in olive oil) into my salads all the time for lunch. In lieu of dressing, which is really the one ingredient that can turn a salad into a poor food choice.
