I will only consider Ford among domestic manufactuerers...no way I’m ever buying a guvmint owned made vehicle....EVER.
“Subarus sales rose by 79% between 2008 and 2012, more than all but two other brands.”
A lot of coming out of the closet?
RE: .no way Im ever buying a guvmint owned made vehicle....EVER.
What if the guvmint sold all its shares of GM?
Same here. I bought a Ford F-150 and love it. I didn’t even look at the GM made trucks - not interested in government motors.
possibly...though nothing from Chrysler/Dodge. Quality just isn’t there for those makes. Would still look to Ford and the overseas market first though.
Same here. We are a Toyota and Willys household. My last one was a ranger xlt that gave me 10 years.
Good karma for having some principle compared to the other big auto companies?
I considered Toyota and Honda this time around, and settled on Honda. Reliable, good maintenance, easy to deal with, handles well, four-wheel drive.
I had a Subaru, which I really liked for back roads and winter driving, but regrettably the car rusted far too quickly. I was constantly replacing brakes and exhaust system and everything else exposed to road salt, and finally it was ready to fall apart.
GM? Never.
I just bought a Toyota Rav 4. Sales person asked why I chose Toyota. I said I didn’t buy union made cars.
RE: Would still look to Ford and the overseas market first though.
Most of these foreign sounding cars are in fact -— MADE IN AMERICA.
I’m not even sure if at any time of the day in the Stock Market, Toyota is really a Japanese company anymore. It could be that Americans own more of the company than Japanese do.
That’s just the way the financial markets work.
Ouch! That smarts.
What a profound insight.
RE: GM? never.
Now I understand why the Michigan cities of Flint and Detroit are the way they are...
we only consider’fords. ever’since the 90s when they teamed up with mazda and all their electronic systems improved greatly, and overall quality started improving, we went with them.
their insides look like matchbox cars. plus ugly designs overall. especially dodge/chrysler.
I’ll bet VW could climb a notch or two up that list if they’d bring that mid-sized TDI pickup truck into the US market.
if you really’don’t want cars to rust out, you have to get rust-oleum and plastic undercoating and once or twice a year tackle any problem areas and hit the wheel wells, whether they look okay or not.
Where is the Chevy Volt?
