I don’t press charges if someone is in my face and poking me etc, I just take care of the problem.
I don’t know this whole story, but it’s alarming that so many people these days bring up the “hate crime” terminology. That sure does leave a lot open for interpretation.
The woman may be a fool, which would be all the more reason for the America hating Left and their moslem allies to target her. They know people will be hesitant to defend her actions. They’re using it to get a conviction for hate thought. Which is all the more reason liberty loving people should be staunchly defending her right to say whatever names she wants. As for poking fingers, how fast was the cabbie driving? Could she not have felt threatened?
Approach a person in an aggressive manner without even touching them, is assault.
Unwanted intentional touching is battery.
The intentional unwanted touching, however, is battery.
"Hate crime" involves presuming to screen the thoughts, and is always ideological rubbish. "Crime" rightly understood involves witnessed (seen or heard) or provable actions only.
As for "was he driving too fast?" You just pulled that out of the hat. If he had been, you may be sure it would have been part of the story.
According to this account (which is all we know), he didn't speed up. He pulled over and called 9-1-1. That would involve slowing down to a atop, I would think.
VErbal assault is not a crime assuming there is no other threatening behaviour. I can call you any name under the book. If you hit me, you committed a crime. This person was vulgar, uncouth, impolite etc. Disorderly, committing battery...to the point of committing a crime is a stretch, but then again, what the heck do I know. Everyday it’s something posted on here that makes me think life is upside down.
This person obviously is expressing a lot of the feelings that have been pent up in all of us for years now.
A harmful or offensive touching of one by another. Yep, battery.
But it’s not a crime for her to be a moron.
I just got back from WallyWorld. Some idjit had his cart parked north-south in an east-west lane, and he was blocking the rest of the aisle.
I said “Excuse me!” while thinking, “Why am I asking this guy to excuse me?”
But he said, “I’m sorry,” and we both moved on. Grownups aren’t supposed to hit one another. Not a comment on your question, but I was having a bad day and thought about pushing it out of the way with my cart as he held it.
Thought better of it. People like us may be holding society together.
But can we hold?
It’s the hate crime that’s the crux of the story. I don’t believe at all we are getting the whole story. Anyone could go on and on about the vagaries; was she poking or tapping him on shoulder? etc. We probably agree on hate crime, but equating poking with battery is one step closer to getting this woman convicted of a hate crime, which would be a real crime in my mind. But just my opinion.
Islam is a Hate Crime in itself. This woman was not being irrational at all ...just honest
So... ...is the guy a muslim?
***...he pulled over to the side of the road and called 911. ***
How do we know he was not setting off a phone detonating devise somewhere?
