OK, I see you are a local. if the house has no number, then EXTRA care is incumbent upon the server to be sure he has the proper address. Due diligence is incumbent upon the officer when the stakes and risk is that high.

I just re read the story to see if I missed something and still did not see anything in it about a missing address numbers on the house. I still feel the officer was negligent from the start, no other houses had numbers on them that he determine the correct residence? Never heard of Google maps? Sloppy, lazy, shoddy work that resulted in an animal maimed. And worse it could have another home owner shot or killed.
