Sort of offside, but I think I now object to “just war” theory and take it a step further. If it saves our troops, I think it justifies something beyond normal just action in war. Hence the dropping of the A-bomb on Japan. Under pure “just war” theory, dropping the A-bomb was an evil action. So was the bombing of Dresden. I personally have no problem with either. My attitude is “if you start the war, it sucks to be you”

Agreed. Oops. I left off a part: at least the use of the A bomb can be justified under the theory of just war because in the end it saved far more lives (ours, theirs, soldiers, civilian, everyone) than it cost.
