I have both.
I find male cats far superior than females as far as hunters and they are way more affectionate. Just anecdotal evidence mind you. He serves his purpose by killing mice and chipmunks and spreading cat hair all over my clothes in the morning.
My dogs I love too. They’re Great Pyrennes and are just awesome dogs. They keep the beasties away, watch over the livestock and keep me company or it could be the other way around.
Do you cats and dogs get along well?
I too. I like male cats, but also female dogs. The opposite everyone tags each species as when discussing, or advertising, etc.
I don’t get the animosity of some people toward 1 of the species. I like them.
