Lots of good advice here. I’m already on the path, just need to move away from Gmail and I’ll be using open source exclusively for all online activity. (I still have a Windows boot partition but it is used for offline work only).

Will check this out.

Remember though, this is a sure way to get flagged as suspicious.

This of course is one of those unintended consequences of ill-informed governmental action. The combination of an endlessly politicized administration and their desire for widespread digital surveillance of US citizens inevitably leads to changes in behavior. Over time more and more people will adopt secure communications, encrypted emails, and other privacy protecting strategies for legitimate purposes. The EFF list of technologies is just the beginning. In a few years we may see widespread use of TOR style networks and zero knowledge search platforms.

The net result will be vast amounts of encrypted traffic, and much greater difficultly finding and intercepting the messages of bad actors. Such a shift could also cause profound changes in the online advertising industry, as it becomes difficult or even impossible for search platforms to identify their clients.

But... I CAN’T stop!

heh...because I never *started*.

I saw through these things a LONG time ago. Their business model is transparent, and not healthy for me.

Would be really happy if I could remove all of the Google bloatware from my tablet. Even Opera uses Google on the tablet. Arrghhhh!

Bitcoin says it is NOT anonymous, so I guess not much better than PayPal. It is the online transactions that I would really like to shield, not just from the _______ dufusses either.
