Bacon sandwiches are now racist. What race is bacon again? I keep forgetting. "Contractor loses out on his 'dream' £1,000-a-week IT role after unwittingly saying he would treat his Muslim recruiter to a bacon sandwich," by Helen Lawson for the Daily Mail, June 15 (thanks to Blazing Cat Fur): An IT contractor claims an off-the-cuff remark about a bacon sandwich cost him a £1,000-a-week job. Clive Hunt, 58, says he was offered an eight-month NHS contract after attending an interview set up by recruitment firm Reed. 'Later, as I was driving home, Ms Sacranie's manager called me and wanted to know about the racist remark I had made.
'I said I had not made one and he said I had said that I would get her a bacon sandwich. But I only made the remark because she referred to breakfast.
'The woman was of Asian appearance. I am not a racist, never have been. I wasn't brought up that way.
'Bacon sandwiches are often eaten at breakfast. I didn't think for a minute this would have caused offence otherwise I wouldn't have said it.'
Mr Hunt said he was due to take up the NHS role last Monday.
'I have lost a contract because of an unassuming remark about a bacon sarnie,' he said.

Easy, UK. Get rid of all your muslims and life might approach beautiful again.
Good example.
Or at least don’t allow them to call the shots. But now in U.S. we are being told that “illegal alien” is racist so we need to clean up our own back yard. Even “undocumented worker” is being attacked.
Are Muslimes now a race? What race would that be? Asian? Asian Christians would not find eating pork (or, more accurately, talking about eating pork) offensive; nor would Chinese, who--last time I looked--were Asians.
Perhaps--perhaps--this may be insulting to Muslimes, but that is NOT racism.
"Well, perhaps some of those little crackers ..."
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but this is what I'm having for dinner... As someone who likes their clam chowda a bit spicier, there's NOTHING better than Cheese-Its Tabasco flavored crackers in the chowda (OK, "chowder" for the rest of you!)

Or offer to buy 'em lunch during Ramadan!

It's all those slight differences between American and British English...
In GB, people from the far east, i.e. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc... are collectively referred to as "Oriental," where as that would get an American imprisoned by the PC police.
In GB, people from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc, are known as "Asian."

Wet back comes to mind.
How about filthy, louse-infected taco cruncher?
A company I worked for a while back had (Hindu) Indian clients visiting to finalize a big deal. The boss took them to Ruth Chris Steakhouse.
Not a good move.
Well it is what the PC press use when they don't want to say "Muslim".
But "Asian appeatence" applies to every South Asian: Pakistanis, Indians, Nepalese, Bangladeshis, Ceylonese; who can also be Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, who may eat pig (unless they are also Vegetarian*)
* Can also be a religion
I think the Brits should adopt the attitude of the spanairds, where pork is basically the national dish, as a poke in the eye to the former muslim invaders...
See tagline.
