Hounds in general can be very focused, and that focus sometimes isn't upon exactly what you want them to do. So, they can come across as being hardheaded. To the positive, they're very loving, try to be obedient most of the time, are quite smart as a group and can be very useful working animals for tracking and hunting. They actually love to do it, like a Lab loves to retrieve and to swim.

Sight hounds have their own quirks as do scent hounds. They have big hearts and are brave. They will defend you and your home, but are great with kids. They are more “doggy” dogs than some popular pet breeds, so they do have a bit of an odor and stereotypical dog behaviors are somewhat more pronounced. They do love their people, though, fiercely. Great animals, great working partners, great friends.
