Stewart Rhodes, the group's founder, has emailed me a statement about Snowden:
He is an example of what needs to be done by anyone who has knowledge of such gross violations of our rights. We need more to stand up, because this is surely the mere tip of the iceberg of the infrastructure for a police state that is being built over us.
This is about far more than supposed attempts to ferry out al Qaeda operatives. This is part of a growing Stasi and Checka style surveillance police state which tags, tracks, and prepares plans to detain dissidents with the "Main Core" database of millions of Americans who the regime considers a "threat."
And this is also really about the absurd claim that the U.S. is a battlefield and the Fourth Amendment doesn't apply to the President's "surveillance of the battlefield."

Now wait a minute. Who told you they were an enemy? The politicians?
Islam has killed thousands of Americans in this country alone, but our politicians are demanding we see them as friends.
When was the last time China decapitated one American? When was the last time they bombed a building? When was the last time the Chinese demanded special, protective treatment in the U.S.?
Are you being manipulated for political gain, or are the politicians being honest with you? Could making an enemy of China have anything to do with the politicians desire to take control the Internet? Will they do it "for national security " - to protect us from those murdering blood thirsty............ Asians??
Can’t argue with that, At least we’re still armed, for now.
There are other ways of taking down an enemy than decapitation or bombing buildings. Saying that China is not our friend does not mean that the Islamic countries are.
Yeah, but this regime wants us to rise up violently (which is why he's doing everything he can to tee us off). That way, when we rise up, they can come down on us like a tone of bricks. Imagine oboma with the power of martial law!
That's why we march peacefully, because he couldn't stop that. That way he can't get his private army (being trained) to start firing. He only has about three years left to start his war. If we don't start it, he can't win it.
You better get started now on applying for the licenses, passing the regulations and environmental studies, getting Obamacare for your employees, etc.
to heck with that i need to try something new something fresh something revolutionary
I'm not saying they're a friend, but they're not the ones trying to kill us right now, yet our politicians want us to fear the Asians and love the Jihadists.
Never trust what a politician tells you. Almost everything they do has to do with THEIR OWN power and luxury, and we're just pawns in their global game.
In my opinion, the "cyber threats" from China are no where near as bad as what we do to them, and it's just an excuse that will allow the politicians to control the Internet (they want that control soooooo bad!).
yeah huh obama is going to have his marital law and consummate it by totally screwing us
“Revolutionary” like setting up a stand, cooking some hotdogs and making lemonaide and selling it at market price without gov’t help and intervention?
Yeah, literally, if you're male. (Don't know what he'd do to us females.)
I agree with you on that.
sssssshhhhhhh
i wont say it yes i will you females are where michelle gets her licks in
that’s disgusting
almost as bad as getting screwed by obama
And this is also really about the absurd claim that the U.S. is a battlefield and the Fourth Amendment doesn't apply to the President's "surveillance of the battlefield."
THE Truth of the Matter. BULLSEYE.
“Daily Caller: How searchable is this material? Lets say I want to use NSA material against the tea party. Could I do that?
Binney: That would be very simple. You just take the key point tea party, plug it in the graph, and you get everybody. That smacks of what theyre doing.
I was listening to the testimony of one of the tea party people to Congress, one of the people being abused by the IRS, and she said she was asked, What is my relationship with this person? And the IRS agent gave her the name. Well, the question becomes, how did the IRS know the relationship with that person? And one way theyd know that is from this program, for sure.
So the question is, is someone in the White House, in the line of command, using any access to that program to find a tea party initiative or tea party people trying to get tax exempt status so they can pass them along for the IRS to target? Thats a question I think the government needs to answer, and prove that thats not happening.”
I wonder what the gov’t has planned for this guy? He isn’t hiding to my knowledge, but how long are they going to let him talk?
Still shilling for a Stasi, fascist-style surveillance police state?
Did you even care about or know that tagging, tracking without cause...AND preparing plans to detain dissidents (aka conservatives) with the "Main Core" database of millions of Americans who the regime considers a "threat" is....ILLEGAL? And violates the pesky 4th Amendment? Is theft of our liberty and privacy?
What say you?
First let me say that I am not defending what Snowden did, or the way he did it. That being said, do you really think the Chinese did not know we were spying on them? Even if they couldn't figure it out by themselves, I'm sure they found evidence after they hacked into our government computers as they spied on us...
As far the "traitor" claim, give it a rest. He is most certainly guilty of any number of crimes, but treason is not one of them. Treason has a very specific legal definition, and what he did does not qualify. He did not "make war against the United States"; he never took up arms against the country. And as far as giving "aid and comfort to an enemy", there is no evidence he did that. Publicly revealing the existence of a data collection program is far from providing specific battle plans to an enemy in the field, for example. So let's all cool down the hyperbole a bit.
