ARLINGTON, VA, June 13, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The latest undercover video from the pro-life organization Live Action shows a host of abortion doctors nationwide equivocating about fetal development and the humanity of the unborn child, and then describing in graphic detail the late-term abortion procedure that would end these children’s lives.
In one shot the famous late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart tells Live Action's investigator that in his "heart and mind," life begins "when the mother thinks it begins, not when anybody else thinks it begins."
He adds: "For some women, it’s before they conceive; for some women, it’s never. Even after they deliver, it’s still a problem, not a baby."
The video, the fifth video in a series called Inhuman: Undercover in America’s Abortion Industry, also features newly released recordings from Dr. Carmen Landau, of Southwest Women’s Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a counselor employed at the same facility.
When asked by the Live Action investigator, “Is it a baby?,” the counselor answers:
Well what – how – what do you consider a baby? It’s definitely a fetus…Um, it depends what the term “baby” means to you, and how you perceive it.
When asked if the possibility of the pre-born baby feeling pain bothers her, the New Mexico counselor replies:
I feel that it’s, um, necessary for the procedure to happen and, ultimately, um, safest, and kind of the most, kinda, humane way to do it, you know?
Abortion doctor Carmen Landau tells the investigator that the injection that will kill her baby is “like any shot, you know, like a flu shot, or a vaccine, really.” She alleges that babies in the womb do not feel pain from the fatal injection. “It’s not like you and I [sic] where when we get a flu shot, we’re kind of, ‘Ugh!’ – not – that – that – that experience of anxiety and suffering is not – it [the baby]‘s not capable of.”
A large body of evidence has found that unborn babies can suffer excruciating pain as early as 20 weeks gestation, and possibly even considerably earlier. Currently a nationwide ban on abortion after 20 weeks based upon fetal pain is being considered in the U.S. House.

Lila Rose, the president of Live Action, says the goal of her videos to educate the nation on the true nature of abortion.
“These babies,” said Rose, “whom Carmen Landau calls ‘not a thinking being,’ are unique and precious human persons. They feel, they dream, they grow…and when an abortionist tries to kill them with a needle or with forceps, they react. They fight for their lives, just as any of us would."
“Our investigation has exposed the disturbing willingness of abortionists to engage in illegal and inhuman acts,” Rose said, “including misleading pregnant women, pushing them into abortion, and even infanticide. This is horrible, but Americans should know just as well the horrifying practices that are still legal, that we allow to happen every day.”
The first half of Live Action’s latest video details abortionists’ estimation of the humanity of the unborn child. Abortionist Laura Mercer assures the investigator that her 24-week baby “doesn’t even look like a baby yet.” The video provides several images of premature babies born as early as 23 weeks.
Other abortionists, counselors, and clinic workers captured in Live Action's series called the baby “developed,” “fully grown,” and viable, but then seamlessly transitioned into graphically describing how they will kill him. One counselor admitted that babies had been born alive after abortions at Family Planning Associates Medical Group in Arizona. The Live Action investigator then asked, “So you would just let it die on its own if it was whole and breathing?” “Mm-hm, mm-hm. They will not resuscitate,” responded the counselor.
A counselor at the Dr. Emily Woman’s Center in the Bronx highlighted how arbitrarily babies are given human rights. “You cannot do a termination once it’s outside of the body…He has to resuscitate it, and he has to send it to the hospital," said the counselor. "[W]hen that pregnancy is inside the uterine area and it’s under 24 weeks, it can be – you can do a termination.”
The Live Action video also chronicles the story of Toby, a baby born prematurely at 24 weeks – the gestational age of the baby of the Live Action investigator at the time of many of the undercover investigations. “Toby puts a name and a face to the atrocious murders occurring in these facilities,” Rose said. “Every day, abortionists are brutally killing children just like him. Whether they’re called ‘fetuses’ or ‘babies,’ this fact doesn’t change, and it’s time for Americans to come to terms with it.”
Over the past two months, Live Action has held rallies in several of the cities in which the Inhuman footage was captured. The most recent rally, in Phoenix, Arizona, brought forth upwards of 400 people, not counting over a dozen legislators and over a score of media outlets, in one-hundred-plus-degree weather.
“What our video investigation is uncovering,” Rose said, “along with what we have learned from the trial of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell and from the whistle-blowers from Douglas Karpen’s facility, is that this is abuse. Abortion doctors, counselors, and other staff describe ‘stop[ping] the fetal heart,’ a needle being inserted through the baby’s head, an ‘intrauterine demise.’ They describe babies becoming ‘mushy,’ and how they ‘literally go in and grab and pull pieces out.’ They refer to these babies as human beings, and carry out these inhuman practices on them anyway.”
“Every human being is unique and precious from the moment of conception. But abortionists will not give even these babies – 24 weeks, 27 weeks, viable, capable of surviving outside the womb – the dignity of humanity. So we want to put the question in every American’s head: if not even these babies are worthy of humanity in the abortionist’s eyes, then what is human? What does ‘human’ even mean?”

Today one of my Facebook friends posted a heart-breaking picture of her daughter holding the body of her 20 week-old baby. She went into premature labor and the baby’s lungs weren’t developed so she only survived for a couple of hours. This young woman is mourning her child—not some mass of tissue. My two-year old son was born at 31 weeks (9 weeks premature) so this issue hits close to home for me as well.

it’s sickening and it’s time to end it. either we all can murder as we’re all supposed to be equal under the law, or nobody can. this is rationalization passed off as law. it’s time to go. 50+ million dead by mothers’ choices, men have zero reproductive rights recognized by law.
With a past career in medical ultrasound we can see the heartbeat at aprox 4-5 weeks and little limbs forming around 6-8 weeks and beyond. Leftists want to elevate science about faith in God unless it involves their precious sacrament of abortion—then they close their eyes, hearts and minds to embrace the lies. Astounding and so hypocritical.

Some fit in the palm of your hand with room to spare.
I can personally attest that 24 month old babies look a lot more like people than full term babies do.
We were very primitive by today's standards but we cared for 24 week and even more premature babies and almost all of them survived to grow up, most of them normally although a few had residual vision problems .
I recently met one of our all time youngest survivors and he is now grown up, graduated from a highly regarded University with honors is just about done with Med School. He plans to be a pediatrician and specialize in Neonatal care of at risk babies in under served communities to give back to the world for what he was given.
He has a wonderful wife and a new baby.
Not bad for a foetus.
Every once and while, I think back about how hard we worked to keep those little guys alive and how much we cared about each one of them.
It's hard to understand how many more perfectly healthy babies of the same gestation are so casually and cavalierly terminated via abortion.
I have to wonder how many more exceptional individuals the world has lost after 35 years of abortion.
