I’m not a hard core smoker or drinker, I don’t do any drugs, I’m lightweight, fit and get paid for hard, physical work-I live a natural, semi-vegan lifestyle. And with all that, I do have a favorite “sin” or two that I won’t compromise or give up...
I started reading Mad Magazine when I was 10-11, and I remember a cold war parody of PSAs warning against caffeine, alcohol, smoking, every thing fun is bad, will kill you, etc.
The ad had a huge mushroom cloud in the background, and Alfred E. Neuman in the foreground at a table with a bottle of liquor and cup of coffee on it, and he was puffing on a cigar, pointing at the table. The caption read “With THAT to worry about, I should be worried about this stuff?”
That pretty much sums up my fatalistic attitude, even after all these years-there are worse things than death-and I’m gonna enjoy my life...
Everything in moderation, that’s my theme. I have been warned off of caffeine for good reason. PACs are a very weird feeling, I know when I have them and don’t like it. They are a known precursor to A-fib and I KNOW I don’t want that. The Bible says all things in moderation....good advice.
