That's the male standard of maturity. By that standard, many women never mature. I recall Jack Nicholson's line in "As Good As It Gets", when asked how he write women characters so well: "I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability."
Men and women handle life differently. Men tend to goof around and tell jokes but its serious and important. A lot of life lessons can be learned through play.
