I know everybody likes the cabin stuff but we do have the awesome Gaylord Opryland Hotel up in Grapevine or the Wolf Lodge in Arlington if we can’t find what we are looking for cabin wise. Just throwing it out there. Cabins would be more fun of course...we might not have very good ones around here though.
The RV may be the way to go.
We really got lucky with the last two years cabins.
But if a lake area is selected that offers a movable houseboat...then I'll seize that opportunity!

I emailed the guy about renting 10 - 16 units and getting them delivered & set up. I’ll let y’all know what I find out.
Personally, I’d love to stay at either, but they are expensive for those on limited budgets. Maybe we could get a discount rate for such a large group event?

Sure! Hopefully we can find some cabins or the RV thing will work out cause that is more fun than staying in hotels.
I have been looking around the internet as well for a place to stay, and can see that it will be a difficult task. I have no doubts that y’all will find an awesome place.
Hmmm....found this place near Glenn Rose and Granbury. A good little trek to Seagoville but looks very nice. They have a bow target range on site too. Just throwing it out there for your gander...lol.

Looks pretty awesome and in line with our costs for other cabins. A few of the cabins allow pets too.
That place looks pretty neat. Maybe we can keep them and the Lake Whitney place in mind for the 2015 shoot.
As you mentioned..it is hard to find cabins around here. I have been looking all morning and either the cabins are not very nice or there are just a few of them. The ideal place would be around Cedar Hill near Gun Barrel city. But finding something down there is proving difficult.
We could just embrace the city this year and all stay at the Stockyards hotel here in Fort Worth. Where did everyone stay the last time ya’ll had a shoot up this way?

I have also been looking around, mostly east of Seagoville. I found one really nice place, but it only had 8 cabins (not sure I could find it again).
For the past shoots held up there some of us stayed with NYTexan, some with laurenmarlowe, and the rest stayed at hotels. The main get gatherings took place at NYTexan’s house.
On the plus side, you do have lots of time to find some place.
Yep..we will figure out something. Lots of us looking..something is bound to turn up!

Pinging to 96. Talked to the dude and this sounds like a fabulous place. At first he did not allow any pets, but I talked him into making an exception for Ms. Kitty. He said he will work with us on that arrangement. We might have to pay a special cleaning fee. He also has two more houses on the property called the Summerhouse and The Dutch Bungalow that can be viewed on his Facebook page( I don’t do Facebook...so maybe someone else can look those up). He has an opening for Oct. 24-27 and is sending me an email on prices etc. I did a little figuring and it came to about 120.00 per person per night but it sounds like he is,going to offer us a discount. Each house holds various amounts and can best be seen on the website on post 96.
The cabins and houses are on private property on the lake with fire pits, decks, etc. all within walking distance of each other. They have horseshoes, volleyball and farm animals roaming the property....lol.chickens...llamas...??? Looks like a very nice place with excellent facilities.
The place is 44 miles from Seagoville. Let me know what ya think!!
