RECON TRIP!
I've found two suitable cottage/cabin facilities that can accommodate our group for next years TCMS.
Mill Creek Ranch Resort
(available Oct16 weekend)
and
Lake Whitney Marina
(available both weekends)
mylife will look into less known possibilities.
Oooooooo - yes.
Robert Mitchum was really scary in that one!
Haven’t seen the De Niro version.
No! But I’m putting it on my Must See list!
:-)
You know what? They’re nice and EASY. I vote “yea.” Cool stuff to do on Ray Hubbard. Good eats. Everyone gets a private room. We can get a group rate and a block of rooms together. Sounds great.
I am all about EASY!
I never could dance worth a lick.
So, you dance? Cool. I officially pass the table-dancing over to you. :)
Say, are you and Hubby coming to the next shoot? If so, that right there would be really great!
I am open to the hotel thing, but will miss porch monkey time. Maybe someone can spring for one of the suites and we can have ‘balcony time’...lol. Or we can rent a party barge and hang out on the water one day if the weather is nice.
Yes, I dance - country and western style, which doesn’t adapt well to tables!
We are planning to come to the next shoot, but hubbie doesn’t know it yet! :-D
Seriously, he will want to attend - and he’s also a Michael Berry fan!
:-)
The cottage/cabin thing has only happened on the last two shoots, prior to that folks stayed in hotels (The NYTexan hotel in Ft. Worth is a great and inexpensive place to stay). In all but one shoot (the 1st New Braunfels) we always had a place for porch monkey time and we adapted to that one time.
We are FReepers! We will like whatever place is chosen, because it is about the event and the people.
I tried dancing with wolves once, and that didn’t work out too well either, lol.
_____________
Dancing with carniverous pack animals is always a little risky, which is a good reason not to run for public office.
;-)
I added you to the TCMS ping list.
Thank you!
:-)
Hear, Hear and Dittos!!
I just threw the Harbor Hilton in there for good measure as an alternate.
It looks very nice,is pretty inexpensive, would be very easy to reserve and is very close to the shoot.
I still prefer cabins, but that does come with logistics issues.
I am just delighted to hear that, Pax! This is going to be a really great shoot.
It will be!
Especially if TheMom cooks.
I went out to Ammo Depot yesterday morning.
I was bummed to hear that Mickey sold his great deuce and a half, but was delighted to meet the fellow who bought it.
Red
Red has been down camping on the range for the past two weeks and he has been using that deuce and a half to get **** done!
Red figured out the winch on that truck and pulled some monster trees.
The range now sports 100,200,300 400 and 500 yard ranges.
I believe there are now swinging steels at 500 yards.
I will do first hand recon when we get a cool morning
Sometime in January? ;-)
Oct most likely, but I could slip in there on any given day.
It was a pleasant day this morning, but it is pushing 90 now and quite frankly, I was in the bag at 7 am.
At any rate it sounds like Red is doing good things down there.
It does sound like Red is doing some good things at the range. I’m looking forward to seeing all the changes.
