Phillip Jordan, 58, was arrested after pulling into a KFC drive-through window while intoxicated.
An Ocala man with eight prior DUI convictions is being held on bond after pulling into a fast food restaurant drive-through window while intoxicated.
Phillip P. Jordan, 58, was arrested Thursday after driving drunk into the KFC at 7610 Southeast Maricamp Road Thursday, according to a Marion County Sheriff's Office incident report.
After being arrested, Jordan told police he had drank beer for breakfast and that beer is his 'coffee,' the report said.
A deputy who was at the KFC first noticed Jordan when the blue Nissan pickup truck he was driving ended up too far from the drive-through window.
A fast food restaurant employee later told authorities Jordan got out of the truck to order, nearly falling over and using his car door to support himself, the report said.
The deputy followed Jordan into a Publix, where he stopped him. Jordan told the officer he was just there to pick up a friend, according to the report.
While they were talking, the deputy noticed Jordan's eyes were bloodshot and watery, and his breath smelled of alcohol, the report said. The officer also noticed two open bottles of beer in the truck.
He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, according to the report.
Jordan is being held at the Marion County jail on $15,000 bond.
It is unclear if Jordan has an attorney.
To be candid, it sounds like over 98 convictions, there was no escalation on the part of law enforcement. The man had no incentive to quit doing what he was doing.
Speaking of beer its ridiculous what the brewskies cost these days. Even the cheap, run of the mill brands like Miller hard to find a 6 pack (even cans) for under $6.00.
Not that I drink very much anyway but still-—I miss the old days when the beer wasn’t so pricey... must be the ‘sin tax’ added in. Flux government—they dont sin tax gay pride parades. Out of our beer Federal tyrants.
98 citations but only 2 convictions.
There was another guy out there that would drive his tractor to the bar in the borrow pit because of his duis. The cops couldn’t or wouldn’t stop him.
And shoot your dog
yeah huh
Let me ‘splain a little something...try buying a 6-pack in Canada...aboot $12 to $15 bucks depending on where you are.
I couldn’t believe how expensive beer is in the Yukon Territory and you can only buy booze at a Provencial store.
If you have to make a stupid excuse, always make it memorable.
What’s the latest on on-board driver testing systems? Has anything been developed (at reasonable cost) that isn’t easily bypassed?
That was MY first thought as well.
Duh !!
Back in the day. My friends brother was pulled over and charged with DUI. The cop said that he was incoherent and was slurring his words.
He had not been drinking.
He went to court to prove that he always slurs his words and generally seems to be incoherent.
He won.
I know exactly what you mean.
I used to buy a 12 pack of Bud for $4.95.
The best deal now, is a 6 pack of 16oz Miller lite or Coors lite for $6.59.
I think it’s a summer promo.
BTW, states are in the business of making a profit from the “so called” sins. They would go broke without their cigarette, alcohol and gambling money.
I was headed for work one morning and there was a vehicle coming down my lane toward me followed by a cop. Then he swerved into his lane then back then over mine into the borrow pit. All over the place. He stopped up on the railroad grade along the tracks just short of me. I had pulled over to watch the fun. This cop gets out and runs up and is catching some serious air jumping and coming down trying to break the side window with his club. Tried 4 or 5 times and then just opened the door. Turned out the guy was having a problem with an aneurysm while driving to work...I usually don’t have a problem with an aneurysm until I am driving home from work.
I guess we could brew our own beer at home, brewing kits are readily available and makes a nice hobby for those who are so inclined. Anybody following the simple instructions can brew beer better than the swill that Anheuser-Busch and Miller puts out.
I was driving with a buddy down in SC many many years ago.
I got pulled over for either speeding (in town) or maybe a red light, can’t remember that part.
I pulled off the road into a vacant gravel lot and noticed a huge puddle of standing water. I said to my friend “Watch this” as I parked right in the middle of this 3 to 4 inch puddle.
Needless to say, the cop was none to happy.
He started to approach my car and stopped at the waters edge, about 40 feet from my door. I had rolled down my window and played stupid.
Well, he ordered me to dryer ground and gave me a ticket.
We went on our way to my friends meeting with his doctor in town. He told the Doc about my ticket and the doc asked if I had the summons on me ? I showed him the ticket.
He said “Watch this”
He called the court house and asked the clerk, “Who is the Judge on this day ?”
“Can you put me through to him?”
They exchanged pleasantries and he told the judge about my ticket. He hung up the phone and said “Don’t worry about it, It’s been taken care of”
i get it the doc was a proctologist and he knew that a**hole
So to speak.
The Doc was having sex with my friends brother.
A completely messed up situation.
keep your daughter painting pretty pictures there are plenty around that are not
Did you like the Flower ?
Yes. Of course.
I asked her to do a super high def photoshop, with the “Pillars of Creation”, as the canvas.
The concept is to bury images of historical figures and iconic images of turning points in history within the larger image.
Zoom in to a number of spots to find the hidden images.
that will be cool i like subtlety i just do simple things and i wonder sometimes people laugh at my hands pic in the other thread but #99 is far funnier to me
